GROWTH DRIVER: The relentless expansion of business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in the Philippines facilitated the double-digit growth experienced by the real estate segment during the first quarter of 2015. BPO expansion is seen strongest in Metro Manila, where majority of BPO offices are located in Fort Bonifacio. The expansion also contributed to the urbanization of provinces, as BPO companies open new offices outside Metro Manila. Megaworld, as the country's No. 1 BPO office developer and landlord, is a major stakeholder in this phenomenon. The largest landholder in Fort Bonifacio, Megaworld has McKinley Hill which is now a thriving home to many BPO locators. More BPO offices are set to open in McKinley West and Uptown Bonifacio soon. Outside Metro Manila, integrated urban townships like Iloilo Business Park and The Mactan Newtown house international BPO locators. In the near future, BPO offices will rise in Davao Park District as well as Northill Gateway and The Upper East in Negros Occidental.
